Evaluation of the effect of glyphosate on glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase enzyme activity in vitro conditions

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate in vitro effect glyphosate on Glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) enzyme activity.
 Materials and Methods: In terms G6PD deficiency, samples taken from healthy deficient male individuals were studied. After the hemolysates prepared blood sample, enyzme activities determined by modified Beutler method. Then, effects different concentrations (5.3x10-3, 5.3x10-4, 5.3x10-5, 5.3x10-6 mmol/mL) activity evaluated normal mutant enzymes. addition, antioxidant N-acetylcysteine (NAC) investigated presence without glyphosate.
 Results: While result erythrocyte 12U/g for individual, individual with deficiency 2.5U/g Hb. glyphosate’s maximum loss observed 60th minute incubation. highest inhibition at 5.3x10-3 mmol/mL glyphosate. 4.7x10-7 N-Acetylcysteine partially increased individuals, but had no G6PD.
 Conclusion: humans, it is predicted that affects an interference agent experimental process. case contamination, studies limits will not cause harmful humans should be continued.
